The Patient Care Technician Program offered at FastTrain prepares a graduate to work as an entry-level Patient Care Technician in a clinic, hospital, wound care centers or long-term care facility. Graduates will be able to check vital signs, perform CPR and First Aid, and assist in medical examinations, performing electrocardiograms (EKGs), basic laboratory procedures, and phlebotomy. The program is taught with a combination of lecture, practical exercises in the medical laboratory and with real-world experience during the externship portion of training conducted off-campus at medical facilities.
The Patient Care Technician program will prepare candidates with the core knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for certified nursing assistant and patient care technician certifications.
Entry level positions for medical front-office, medical back-office, laboratory, patient assistant, medical assistant and medical records.
High school diploma or GED
