The Medical Assistant program will prepare and allow an individual to demonstrate the clinical and administrative skills necessary to be a successful Medical Assistant. Upon completion of the program, the student will possess the knowledge and skills needed to function successfully as an entry level medical assistant in a clinic or physician's office. Students will focus on anatomy, physiology and pathology of the various body systems as well as medical front-office / back-office skills and laboratory and diagnostic procedures. HIPAA topics are integrated throughout the curriculum.
The Medical Assistant program will prepare candidates with the core knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for the American Medical Technologists (AMT) sponsored RMA exam.
Entry level positions for medical front-office, medical back-office, laboratory, patient assistant, medical assistant and medical records.
High school diploma or GED
